Saved in the Nic of Time
Well, who’d have
thought. Nic Nat with the match winning goal against North Melbourne. Nic Nat
takes the match winning mark against Saint Kilda. It was a spectacular game to
watch. West Coast were behind all game. They
were 3 points down at quarter time (4.2.26 to 3.5.23) then 12 down at halftime
(6.7.43 to 4.7.31) then only allowed the Saints to pile on what amounted to
only a point at three-quarter time to be down by 13 points but the final
quarter was when the game really become interesting. The Saints had chances to
put us away just like North Melbourne did, and just like North Melbourne failed
to do it. The 1st half was all Saint Kilda in terms of score: 10.9
to 7.12 but the second half was all West Coast: 5.7 to 8.5.
Best on ground I’m
going to say Mackenzie. He usually has a quiet game but for him he played very
well when we needed it the most: 17 disposals, 8 kicks, 9 handballs, 7 marks, 3
tackles and 2 goals. That is not a bad day at the office for a defender in his
first game up forward.
West Coast have
a bye before playing Hawthorn in a game I don’t see us winning (but hopefully
will be closer than last time) especially in Melbourne. Saint Failda- I mean
Saint Kilda also have a bye to prepare for match with Melbourne who could
possibly have a new coach.
My tips: 5 from
