Lyon’s Steering the Ship
The Lions were
never going to be a match the Dockers, though they did fight for the first
quarter before the Dockers took control of the game, the Lions only kicking one
goal in both in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. The Dockers 40
point beating (which I actually got) marks them as a strong finals contender,
although they are not anywhere near the standard of Geelong, Hawthorn and
Sydney (the three premiership favourites) after the low scoring match. It was
also a fitting celebration for Crowley’s (I’m a West Coast supporter. I don’t
really pay attention to our younger brother Fremantle so apologies if I’m
wrong) 150th game.
Best on ground,
obviously goes to a Dorker, so I’m going to say Barlow who had 32 disposals, 12
kicks, 20 handballs, 7 marks and 4 tackles.
The Dockers take
on North Melbourne in Perth for the second consecutive week (which angers me.
Fremantle played there this week so it’s West Coast’s turn, especially after
playing at Etihad the week before our bye. The Essendon and Hawthorn matches
could easily be swapped with no consequences to the fixtures) while the lions
face the Cats at the Gabba.
