Sunday Afternoon: Fremantle Dockers vs. North Melbourne

Lowest of Lows for North

4.5.29. That is quite possibly the lowest score I’ve ever seen and the lowest score recorded since the VFL became the AFL. North can’t even take the fact that they held Fremantle to only 67 points because half the reason the game was low scoring was due to weather. The first goal of the game came just before the end of the first quarter and North Melbourne hit back with the first goal of the second, but after that it was one-way traffic with North being repelled at their forward 50, rarely penetrating it successfully.

Best on ground is obviously going to be a Fremantle player, Nick Suban the only multiple goal scorer of the game with 2 goals, 14 disposals, 9 kicks, 5 handballs, 1 mark and 5 tackles.

The Dockers now face Geelong at Skilled Stadium where their record isn’t particularly good but Geelong’s shock loss to the Lions and a Finals win there last year will make for an interesting game. North have the Giants at Etihad Stadium and although not likely to lose, if they play the same performance that they did against Fremantle, Brad Scott’s head could be on the chopping block and definitely will be they lose. They copped a bad loss to Gold Coast, they copped a horrible game against Fremantle but I doubt he’ll survive a loss to the Giants.

My tips: 3 of 5
