March Closer to Victory
The Saints went
in expecting to win and they got their win but it wasn’t the walk over they
wanted. Caretaker coach Neil Craig has shown more coaching capability in 1 week
than Mark Neeld did in 18 months. 35 points, while still a loss, is a definite
improvement on getting 80+ point beltings week after week.
So within the
remainder of the season, the Demons could win one, possibly two more games
before they start looking for a replacement in the vacant coaching position,
though keeping Neil wouldn’t be a bad idea.
With no Milne
(who has been suspended pending the results of rape case) Nick Riewoldt was
allowed to run rampant and took best on ground (for me anyway) with 3 goals 1,
21 disposals, 16 kicks, 5 handballs, 10 marks and 2 tackles.
The Demons now
face a game that looks considerably easier with Neil Craig as coach when they
play the Western Bulldogs on Saturday night at the MCG while Saint Kilda look
to topple a Richmond side that is streaming toward finals on Sunday afternoon
at, again, the MCG.
