Bulldogs put up a Fight
The game was not the walk over you’d expected, though it was for the
first half. The Bulldogs were virtually scoreless for the first quarter and
were down by just under 7 goals at halftime (11.4.70 to 2.5.17) but the
Bulldogs fought back, out severely outscoring Collingwood in the second half
(4.5.29 to 7.6.48). In the end though, the Magpies won by 34 points.
Cloke was easily best on ground. His 5 goal haul was essential in the
Magpie win. Without him up forward, the game would’ve been a lot closer and
Collingwood might have even lost to the Bulldogs.
Collingwood have a bye and then play Port Adelaide at AAMI stadium while
the Bulldogs will test themselves against Richmond who have emerged as finals
contenders.
